Gift
Happiness has been your gift to me,
Through years of melody and pain,
Pleasure, hardship, wanton rhapsody,
Pure delight, and wind-driven rain.
Years, they do not add up to love and glory;
All things rest on non-things, more true,
No one stands so steadfast through our story,
Nothing but your love, and mine for you.
In our lives, confusion must always reign,
For time's lost treasures fade and blur.
Yet, even in the whirlwinds, there's no strain,
The things we hold dear shall always endure.
For you have chosen me, and in that choice, alone,
I find my refuge, my shelter, my voice.
Reality is shaped by our shared will,
You made my world, and you hold me still.
