I saw it coming

2025-04-24

I stitched silence into my tongue,

Watched shadows flicker where your truth

should have a hug.

Each word you spoke,

a velvet thread weaving stories

where honesty bled.

I smiled,  not blind,

But patient, still,

letting time move in for the kill.

Your mask, so polished,

Your steps so smooth,

But lies leave traces

No charm can soothe.

I knew, from the start,

I knew

But I let you dance in borrowed shoes.

Waiting, watching, soft and sly,

for the moment,

You'd trip in your lie.

And here we are.

Right where I expected.

Game over, but only one of us detected.
